During the second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj expressed visible frustration after a lacklustre fielding effort by KL Rahul. The incident took place during the 52nd over on Day 4, when Siraj bowled a short-of-a-length delivery aimed at Mominul Haque’s body. The batter placed the ball behind square, where it passed Rahul stationed at deep backward square leg. KL Rahul’s lack of urgency in chasing the ball left both Siraj and captain Rohit Sharma visibly displeased.
Mohammed Siraj, in particular, didn’t hold back his frustration, giving Rahul a cold death stare for his half-hearted effort. Rahul, however, gestured that the ball was out of his reach and there wasn’t much he could have done. Just a ball later, Shubman Gill also committed a misfield at square leg, further testing Siraj’s patience. Despite the fielding errors, Siraj maintained his focus, bowling disciplined lines and continuing to apply pressure on the batters.
