The much-anticipated result of the dressing room footage that reportedly had the glass-breaking incident captured turned to be a dud. The CCTV footage that had filmed the happenings doesn’t give any indication regarding the guilty party in this incident. Ground staff, on instructions of the match referee Chris Broad, was inspecting the footage.

Yesterday’s match (16th March) between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka resulted in a high-tension finish. The last over drama though was courtesy of off-field antics rather than on-field cricket. Mahmudullah hit the second-last ball for six as Bangladesh reached the final of Nidahas Trophy 2018.

There was much controversy in the last over when the Bangladeshi players protested against umpires not calling the no-ball. The captain Shakib Al Hasan called the batsmen in the middle back and threatened to stop the game.

The situation was slowly diffused, and the play resumed. The tension was evident after the winning moment as well. The substitute fielders and Sri Lankan cricketers had a go at each other and situation looked ugly.

Later developments proved even more shocking with the news of Bangladesh dressing room glass-door being shattered in pieces came out. There were a lot of speculations about the guilty party.Theories ranged from angry Sri Lankan fans to enraged Bangladeshi players.

Match referee Chris Broad today instructed the ground staff to go through the CCTV footage in a bid to find out the culprit. However, the angles of CCTV cameras have not given out a clear answer. There is still confusion regarding the broken door.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and another Bangladeshi player Nurul Hasan have both been fined 25 percent of their match fees and also received one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct in separate incidents during the T20I against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Friday.
