Rajasthan Royals’ explosive batter Shimron Hetmyer delivered one of the most emotional — and hilarious — celebrations of IPL 2025 after Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan was dismissed on Monday, April 28, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Earlier in the match, Hetmyer had dropped a crucial catch offered by Sudharsan during the second over, sparking fears that it could prove costly.
After Maheesh Theekshana produced a perfect half-volley outside off-stump, Sudharsan mistimed his drive straight to Shimron Hetmyer at extra cover. However, despite getting into position, Hetmyer spilt the catch, with the ball striking his chest. At that stage, Sudharsan was on just 10 runs.

The Gujarat Titans’ opening duo of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan has been one of the most formidable in the tournament, making the early miss even more nerve-wracking for Rajasthan. Fortunately for RR, the drop didn’t haunt them for long. Sai Sudharsan failed to fully capitalise on the reprieve and was eventually dismissed for 39 off 30 balls in the 11th over.
It was Theekshana again who did the damage, drawing Sudharsan into a false stroke. The left-hander attempted a lofted shot but found Riyan Parag at long-on, who made no mistake.
