In a significant mid-season development, Delhi Capitals have roped in Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of IPL 2025, replacing Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has withdrawn due to personal reasons. With several overseas players reconsidering their availability in the wake of ongoing geopolitical tensions, Fraser-McGurk is among the first to formally exit the tournament’s second leg.

In response, DC have secured Mustafizur’s services for INR 6 crore, a familiar face for the franchise and the league. Mustafizur Rahman brings a wealth of T20 experience with him. He has played 57 IPL matches and claimed 61 wickets, while in international T20s for Bangladesh, he has an impressive 132 wickets in 106 appearances.
His previous stints with Delhi in 2022 and 2023 showed glimpses of his deceptive cutters and effective death bowling. Over the years, he has also represented franchises like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings.

His most recent IPL appearance was with CSK, where he picked up 14 wickets in nine matches before an untimely departure due to a scheduling conflict between the BCB and the franchise. That mid-season exit left Chennai scrambling for options and played a part in their failure to qualify for the playoffs.
