Delhi Capitals pacer Mukesh Kumar has been fined 10% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 63 of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians. The incident unfolded at the Wankhede Stadium, where Delhi’s 59-run defeat officially ended their hopes of making it to the playoffs.

The IPL released a statement confirming that Mukesh accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Daniel Manohar. The fine pertains to a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2, which deals with the abuse of cricket equipment, ground fixtures, or clothing.
Mukesh’s frustration became evident during a tough outing where he conceded 48 runs in four overs. His most expensive spell came in the 19th over, where Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir took him apart for 27 runs, swinging the momentum firmly in MI’s favour.

Despite managing to dismiss Will Jacks and Tilak Varma, Mukesh struggled with his consistency, especially in the death overs—a problem that has troubled DC throughout the season. His reaction following that expensive over, which reportedly involved slamming equipment, led to the penalty.

Earlier in the match, Delhi seemed in control thanks to sharp spells from Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam in the middle overs. But the final overs unravelled them, and their chase never took off. Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner proved too good with the ball, taking three wickets apiece.
