Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) etched their name in history books by clinching their maiden Indian Premier League title with a thrilling six-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. While the night belonged to the entire squad, it was young Swastik Chikara who added a touch of nostalgia and fun by mimicking Virat Kohli’s famous “Gangnam Style” dance from the 2013 Champions Trophy during the celebrations.

RCB’s innings was anchored by none other than Virat Kohli, who top-scored with a composed 43 off 35 deliveries. His knock, supported by contributions from Mayank Agarwal (24), Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25), and Jitesh Sharma (24), guided RCB to a fighting total of 190 for 9. For Punjab, Arshdeep Singh stood out with the ball, taking 3 wickets, while Kyle Jamieson chipped in with figures of 3 for 48.

Krunal Pandya played a pivotal role in the middle overs, finishing with sensational figures of 2 for 17 in his four overs, earning him the Player of the Match award. Once the final ball was bowled, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar received the IPL 2025 trophy from BCCI officials and hoisted it aloft to kickstart jubilant celebrations. Swastik Chikara, although not featuring in a single game this season, became the crowd-favorite with his playful dance tribute to Kohli.

Chikara was signed for ₹30 lakh and has formed a strong bond with Kohli during the season. His admiration for the senior pro is well known, and his Gangnam Style move was a heartwarming nod to Kohli’s younger days. The 21-year-old had already turned heads ahead of the auction with standout performances in the UP T20 League and a mammoth 381-run knock in the CK Nayudu Trophy.
While RCB’s title win was a team effort, moments like Chikara’s dance showcased the emotional connection and camaraderie that define a championship-winning side.
