On June 15, while heartfelt Father’s Day wishes poured in from across the world, one stood out for its sheer innocence and charm—it came from none other than Vamika Kohli, the daughter of former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. The post, shared on Anushka Sharma’s Instagram, featured a heart-melting note from Vamika about her little brother Akaay and their bond with their father.

“He looks like my brother. He is funny. He tickles me. I play make up with him. I love him so much and he loves me this much (arms wide). Happy Father’s Day,” read the note. Though a similar message from one-year-old Akaay—born on February 15, 2024—was briefly shared and later removed, Vamika’s words continue to warm hearts online.

Just over a month prior, on May 12, 2025, Virat Kohli officially retired from Test cricket, concluding a monumental 14-year journey in whites. With 9,230 runs in 123 Tests, Kohli bowed out as India’s fourth-highest run-getter in the format.

But his legacy extends far beyond numbers. As India’s most successful Test captain with 40 wins from 68 matches, Kohli redefined intensity and leadership for a generation. His retirement came after a challenging tour of Australia, where he managed only 190 runs at an average of 23.75.
Though his century in the series opener showed sparks of vintage Kohli, consistency eluded him in the remaining games. He later admitted the physical and mental toll of sustaining peak form in his mid-30s, suggesting it may have been his final tour Down Under.

Meanwhile, the Indian team eyes history as they prepare for a crucial Test series in England. India has toured England 19 times, winning the series only thrice. Their last triumph came under Rahul Dravid’s captaincy in 2007. With Shubman Gill now at the helm, there’s renewed hope to end an 18-year drought and script a new chapter in Indian cricket’s legacy abroad.
