On Day 4 of the second Test between India and England at Edgbaston, Rishabh Pant once again proved why he’s one of the most entertaining characters in world cricket. In a span of just a few overs, Pant gave fans both a record-breaking six and a hilarious blooper — all classic Rishabh Pant.

Pant, who came in with India already in control of the Test, wasted no time asserting his aggressive approach. Facing Josh Tongue, he went after the pacer from the very start. On just the fourth ball of his innings, Pant smashed a four on the leg side and then danced down the track to lift Tongue over long-off for a six — a trademark Pant counterattack that stunned the bowler and lifted Indian spirits.

But the moment that really stole the show came a bit later. In Tongue’s 34th over, Pant tried to continue his assault with another big swing outside off. However, this time he missed the ball completely — and lost grip of his bat. The willow flew dramatically toward square leg, sending the crowd into laughter and drawing a priceless reaction from Jasprit Bumrah, who was seen smiling and shaking his head in disbelief from the dressing room.

While the comic relief provided a break from the tension, Rishabh Pant’s six earlier in the innings had already etched his name in the record books.

With that strike, he became the visiting batter with the most Test sixes in a single country, going past Ben Stokes’ tally of 21 sixes in South Africa. Pant now has 22 in England. With overcast conditions looming and swing on offer, Rishabh Pant’s fearless approach continues to be a game-changer in this high-stakes Test match.
