Shahid Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream that most cricket lovers only fantasise about — playing at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Known not just for his acting chops but also his deep love for cricket, Shahid took to the field at the ‘Home of Cricket’ with a childlike enthusiasm that was evident in every frame shared online.

The Delhi-born actor, who has previously portrayed cricketers on the big screen in films like Dil Bole Hadippa! and Jersey, looked right at home on the lush green outfield. Clad in traditional whites and cricket spikes, Shahid showcased his batting skills, hitting elegant strokes that impressed fans and onlookers alike. Cheering him on from the stands was his wife, Mira Rajput, who sported a crisp white shirt to match the occasion’s aesthetic.

One of the photos showed him playing a lofted drive, while others captured camaraderie with fellow teammates on the hallowed turf. Though Kapoor has shot in many picturesque locations, playing at Lord’s seemed to top the list as a career highlight — if not as an actor, then definitely as a cricket fan.

Professionally, Shahid is busy with Arjun Ustara, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, reuniting the duo after acclaimed films like Kaminey and Haider. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the upcoming movie features a stellar cast including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda, and a special appearance by Vikrant Massey. The film is slated for a December 2025 release.
Incidentally, Lord’s also witnessed high drama recently as England edged past India in the third Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, winning by a narrow 22-run margin on the final day.
