The Indian Women’s Cricket Team is set to enter the final phase of its World Cup 2025 preparation with a focused training camp in Visakhapatnam, starting August 25. Initially planned in Bengaluru, the week-long camp was shifted due to logistical challenges and will concentrate on skill refinement, fitness, and match simulations to ensure the squad is match-ready.

The ACA-VDCA Stadium has been selected strategically, as India will play two key World Cup fixtures there — against South Africa on October 9 and Australia on October 12. Notably, only three players in the current squad — Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Sneh Rana — have prior experience at this venue, highlighting the importance of familiarisation.
All 15 main squad members, along with reserves and India A players, will participate in the camp. The program includes intense training sessions and two intra-squad day-night matches, allowing players to adjust to conditions under lights.

The camp will wrap up ahead of India’s three-match ODI series against Australia, starting September 16 in New Chandigarh. This is the team’s second major preparatory phase following a 10-day conditioning camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, focused on fitness, fielding, and match readiness.
