Irfan Pathan, the Player of the Final for his 3/16, reflected on how that victory marked the beginning of India’s dominance over Pakistan in T20Is. “What a day it was back in 2007. Where our World Cup dream was fulfilled, beating Pakistan regularly started there in T20 cricket,” Pathan wrote on X, subtly reminding fans of the historic significance of the win.

Yuvraj Singh, whose exploits in the tournament became legendary, shared a heartfelt throwback on Instagram. “Some memories never fade and this is definitely one of them! A proud moment that united a nation in joy and pride. Throwback to this memorable 2007 World Cup win,” he posted.

Yuvraj’s tournament was highlighted by the fastest fifty in T20 internationals by a full member nation, off just 12 balls against England, including six sixes in a single over off Stuart Broad. He also played a blistering 30-ball 70 against Australia in the semi-final, cementing his status as a game-changer.

Stellar performances across the board supported the triumph. Gautam Gambhir emerged as India’s highest run-scorer with 227 runs, including a vital 75 in the final. That iconic victory not only gave India its first T20 World Cup trophy but also laid the foundation for a new era in Indian cricket, inspiring generations to come.
