Today, the Punjab duo is opening for India in the Asia Cup, dominating opposition bowlers, while Gill has also taken on the mantle of India’s Test captain. The 43-year-old has now shifted focus to training another exciting pair—Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. Both played together as openers for the Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, thrilling fans with aggressive strokeplay at the top.

Prabhsimran’s consistent domestic form has earned him a place in India A’s squad for the upcoming three-match one-day series against Australia A, starting September 30 in Kanpur. The wicketkeeper-batter, who struck 549 runs at a strike rate of 160.53 in IPL 2025, is expected to feature in all three games.

Priyansh Arya, who impressed with 475 runs at a blistering 179.25 strike rate, has also been picked but will only feature in the first game.
