In a refreshing insight into life at Chennai Super Kings, young all-rounder Prashant Veer has revealed that his first lesson from MS Dhoni had nothing to do with cricket. Instead, the CSK legend offered practical financial advice—urging the youngster to manage his money wisely after his life-changing IPL 2026 auction deal.

“Right now, we haven’t spoken much about cricket. He told me to save my money and not spend it unnecessarily,” Veer shared, highlighting Dhoni’s grounded approach to mentoring young players.
Prashnat Veer’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. Entering the IPL 2026 auction with a base price of ₹30 lakh, he ended up securing a massive ₹14.20 crore deal, making him one of the highest-paid uncapped players in the tournament’s history.

His signing, along with other young talents, signals CSK’s long-term planning, especially after the departure of Ravindra Jadeja to Rajasthan Royals and with Dhoni nearing the twilight of his career. However, Veer is not burdening himself with expectations of filling big shoes.
“First of all, I have to do what I know. If I think I have to take his place, there will be a lot of pressure. What he has done for the franchise and Indian cricket is not easy,” he admitted, underlining his focus on personal growth.
