Ravindra Jadeja scripted a memorable homecoming as he returned to the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, delivering a match-winning performance against his former side, the Chennai Super Kings, in Guwahati. Nearly two decades after being dubbed the “Rockstar” early in his career, Jadeja reminded everyone of his enduring class with a clinical spell that set up RR’s dominant victory.

Playing his first game for Rajasthan since his initial stint, Jadeja picked up 2/18 in three overs, playing a crucial role in bundling CSK out for just 127. It was a special outing, made even more emotional by the fact that it came against the franchise where he spent over 12 years and built a legacy.
Speaking after the game, Ravindra Jadeja struck a light-hearted note about his return. “I’m liking the pink colour. The yellow had started to feel a bit old,” he joked, referring to his switch from CSK to RR. However, he didn’t shy away from admitting that the transition wasn’t easy. “Leaving CSK was emotional. I spent over a decade there, so it was bound to be difficult. But I’ve accepted that change is part of a cricketer’s journey,” he said.

Jadeja’s connection with Rajasthan runs deep. He was part of their historic IPL 2008 title-winning campaign, and returning now as a seasoned all-rounder feels like a full-circle moment.
“That memory has always stayed with me. Winning the IPL in my first season gave me confidence. Now, I want to contribute with experience and also keep learning with this group,” he added.

One of the standout moments of the night came when Jadeja dismissed Shivam Dube and followed it up with an animated send-off. Explaining the reaction, he said, “When I was with CSK, I celebrated in a similar way, so this was like a ‘to be continued’ moment.”

He also acknowledged the importance of Dube’s wicket in the context of the match. “A player like Dube can change the game quickly. My focus was to get him out at that stage because it could have ended their hopes, especially with the lower order to follow,” Jadeja explained.
With both skill and emotion on display, Jadeja’s return has already added a compelling storyline to Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2026 campaign.
