The IPL 2026 season is still in its early stages, but all ten franchises have already completed their opening matches, offering the first glimpse into team form and combinations. On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings have had a shaky start, each suffering defeats in their opening fixtures.

Despite the tournament just getting underway, Bollywood filmmaker Kunal Kohli has stirred debate among fans by calling Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals two of the “most boring” teams in the IPL. His comments came after their clash in Lucknow, which was a low-scoring contest.

LSG were bowled out for just 141, and although Delhi stumbled early in the chase, they eventually secured a comfortable six-wicket win. Taking to social media, Kunal Kohli wrote, “With due respect… these two teams are among the most boring IPL teams.” He also added that even the Chennai Super Kings can feel dull without the presence of MS Dhoni, highlighting the legendary wicketkeeper’s unmatched appeal.

Interestingly, Kohli admitted that his preferences have evolved, revealing a newfound admiration for the Rajasthan Royals, largely due to teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has already made headlines with his fearless batting.

On the field, Delhi Capitals showed resilience despite early setbacks. LSG suffered a major blow when captain Rishabh Pant was run out in unfortunate fashion. The innings never quite recovered, with Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan picking up three wickets each to dismantle the batting order.

However, LSG didn’t go down without a fight, reducing DC to 26/4 in the chase. That’s when Sameer Rizvi stepped up with a composed unbeaten 70, guiding his team home and ensuring a winning start to their campaign.
