One week has rolled past us, and while the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just hotting up, there have already been quite a lot of surprises and shocks along the way. Defending champions Mumbai Indians have not won a match so far, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have not allowed the absence of David Warner and Steve Smith to impede their process, while new captains in Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, and R Ashwin are slowly getting into their grooves.
We take a look at the five big-ticket players who have not yet made a mark in the tournament so far.

Rohit Sharma
IN IPL 2018, the Mumbai Indians skipper has had a rather indifferent start to the season so far. While he has looked good in patches, these patches have been very short and he has on both the occasions gifted his wicket away.
15 and 11 runs in the two innings do not do justice to his potential as a player and Mumbai Indians would ideally want their captain to get going which might well be the catalyst for the entire team this season.
Jaydev Unadkat
The most expensive Indian player in the auctions, Jaydev Unadkat has not been able to make a splash in the two games he has played so far.
He has managed to pick up only a couple of wickets in the two games and has not been able to contain the batsmen as well. The Saurashtra-bowler has to take up more responsibility in the upcoming games especially because the Rajasthan Royals are thin on Indian bowlers resources.
Ben Stokes
Another big-ticket signing for the Rajasthan Royals, Ben Stokes has not looked to be at his best in the couple of games he has played for the Jaipur-based team.
Stokes was one of the marquee players for the Rising Pune Supergiant last season but has not looked himself in the first week.
21 runs with the bat and a solitary wicket with the ball do not do justice to the ability of Ben Stokes and the Royals would hope that the strapping all-rounder would enter his stride sooner rather than later.
Chris Lynn
The big-hitting Australian has built quite a reputation for himself with the bat and after having gone through another bout of a shoulder injury has made his comeback a bit sour for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

He strides out to open for them, but in both the innings, he has looked to play his strokes but has faltered on both the occasions.
Scores of 5 and 22 are just not good enough and Kolkata Knight Riders would hope that their key signing gets going and wins them matches, for such is his prowess than on his day he can pulverize any bowling attack.
Virat Kohli
Now, this is rather strange, not many times Virat Kohli would feature in lists which has the word missed out, but then Royal Challengers Bangalore has not got going in the two matches so far.
While he was very jittery in the first game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he looked good against the Kings XI Punjab but was completely befuddled by a beauty from young Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman.
The fortunes of RCB hinges on the form of Virat Kohli and hence the team would hope that these two matches are just an aberration!
