In a moment that beautifully captured the human side of cricket, Sanju Samson recently won hearts with a spontaneous act of kindness during a brief stop in Kerala. The incident took place near Punchappadam School on the Mundur–Thootha road in Palakkad and has since gone viral for all the right reasons.

Samson was reportedly travelling from Kozhikode to Coimbatore when he paused his journey around 5:15 PM to attend a phone call. At the same time, a local cable technician, Shabareesh, along with his friend, was on his way to a nearby ground for a casual game of cricket. As they passed by, they noticed Samson sitting inside a parked car.

Despite being engaged in a video call, Samson acknowledged them with a smile and politely gestured for them to wait. Once he wrapped up his call, the wicketkeeper-batter stepped out and interacted warmly, asking about their day and even offering a quick photo opportunity. Shabareesh took a selfie with his phone, but Samson noticed the device had a cracked, barely functional screen.

In a quiet yet impactful gesture, Samson opened his car, pulled out a brand-new smartphone, and handed it over to the fan. The device, reportedly worth around ₹30,000, left Shabareesh and his friend stunned. What stood out was the simplicity of the act—no cameras, no announcements—just a genuine moment of generosity.

Interestingly, this heartwarming episode comes at a time when Samson is navigating a tough phase on the field. Representing Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026, he has struggled for consistency, registering scores of 6, 7, and 9 in his first three outings. The team, too, has had a slow start to the season.
