Punjab Kings all-rounder Marco Jansen produced a brilliant fielding effort to dismiss KL Rahul during the IPL 2026 clash against Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Monday. The stunning running catch not only lifted Punjab Kings’ energy on the field but also gave them complete control early in Delhi’s daunting 211-run chase.

The breakthrough came in the third over when left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled a hard-length delivery targeting middle and leg stump. Rahul attempted to flick the ball through the leg side but only managed a leading top edge that ballooned behind the wicket.

As the ball went high into the night sky, both wicketkeeper Prabhsimran Singh and first-slip fielder Marco Jansen sprinted towards it. Jansen made a confident call, kept his eyes firmly on the ball and completed a smart running catch under pressure.

The excellent effort sparked huge celebrations inside the Punjab Kings camp. Head coach Ricky Ponting was seen applauding the catch from the dugout, clearly pleased after PBKS had struggled badly with dropped catches during their previous three consecutive defeats in IPL 2026.

Arshdeep’s dismissal of KL Rahul continued an impressive personal record against the Delhi Capitals batter, marking the third time he has removed him in T20 cricket.

KL Rahul’s disappointing outing ended on just nine runs from eight balls as Delhi Capitals slipped to 14/2 in the chase. The wicketkeeper-batter entered the match after scores of 23 and 12 against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively.

Despite the recent low scores, KL Rahul has still enjoyed an impressive IPL 2026 campaign, scoring 477 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 177.98, including one century and three half-centuries. Earlier this season, he had hammered an unbeaten 152 off just 67 balls against the Punjab Kings.

Punjab Kings maintained their dominance during the powerplay as Arshdeep also dismissed Sahil Parakh, while Yash Thakur removed Abishek Porel cheaply. Earlier in the evening, captain Shreyas Iyer led PBKS to a commanding total of 210/5 with an unbeaten 59 off 36 deliveries, supported by aggressive knocks from Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly.
