Mumbai Indians finally found a moment to celebrate during their IPL 2026 clash against Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, as Shardul Thakur produced a sensational delivery to dismiss PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer. The stunning wicket quickly went viral on social media and gave MI a much-needed breakthrough after another difficult start in the field.
Punjab Kings were cruising at 107/1 after 11 overs, with Prabhsimran Singh leading the charge in dominant fashion. The opener had already benefited from an early lifeline after the Mumbai Indians dropped another catch in the field, continuing their disappointing trend this season. MI captain Jasprit Bumrah then turned to Shardul Thakur in search of a breakthrough. Thakur delivered instantly.

On the second ball of the 12th over, he removed the dangerous Prabhsimran Singh, who looked set for a massive score. However, the real highlight came two deliveries later when Shreyas Iyer walked into the middle.

Iyer welcomed Thakur with a boundary on the first ball he faced, confidently driving the pacer to the fence. But Shardul responded in spectacular fashion. The right-arm seamer bowled a perfect good-length delivery that straightened sharply after pitching. Iyer attempted to defend, only to see the ball kiss the outside edge and crash into the off stump.
The Punjab Kings skipper stood stunned for a moment, struggling to process the dismissal, while Shardul erupted in celebration. The Mumbai Indians pacer looked pumped up after producing one of the best deliveries of the match.
