Rajasthan Royals found themselves under massive pressure once again during their crucial IPL 2026 clash against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, as the in-form Dhruv Jurel lost his wicket at a critical stage of the innings. Just when Rajasthan appeared to be rebuilding after a shaky start, MI all-rounder Corbin Bosch delivered a stunning yorker to clean up Jurel moments before the strategic timeout.

Jurel, who had looked composed and aggressive in the middle overs, departed after scoring 38 runs off 26 deliveries, including three boundaries and two sixes. The wicket proved to be a huge turning point in the contest, with Rajasthan slipping to 119/5 after 13 overs.

Bosch’s wicket-taking delivery showcased excellent execution under pressure. Bowling full and straight at high pace, the MI pacer nailed a pinpoint yorker that crashed into the stumps. Jurel, known for his high backlift, simply did not have enough time to bring his bat down and dig the ball out.

Earlier in the evening, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya surprised many with his tactical approach after winning the toss and electing to bowl first. With star pacer Jasprit Bumrah unavailable, Mumbai introduced spin unusually early during the powerplay — a rare move at the Wankhede Stadium.

According to Cricbuzz, this was only the second time in the Impact Player era that Mumbai Indians bowled three or more overs of spin inside the powerplay. The strategy worked brilliantly for MI as Rajasthan lost key wickets early. Dangerous batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to make an impact, while skipper Riyan Parag also departed cheaply.

Following the top-order collapse, Jurel and Dasun Shanaka attempted to revive the innings with an aggressive partnership. However, Shanaka’s unfortunate run-out, followed by Jurel’s dismissal, left Rajasthan in serious trouble.

With playoff qualification still on the line, Rajasthan Royals desperately needed stability in the middle overs. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, already eliminated from the tournament, continued to play fearless cricket despite having nothing to lose.
