India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was recently spotted at the airport with his family while the Indian team continues its ODI series against Afghanistan. The Men in Blue started the three-match series on a positive note, securing a comfortable seven-wicket victory in the opening encounter.

Bumrah, who has been rested for the ODI series as part of workload management, was seen travelling with his wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, and their son Angad. As the family made their way through the airport, the star pacer politely requested that photographers not take pictures of Sanjana and Angad. The paparazzi respected his request, prompting Sanjana to thank them for their cooperation.
The India speedster later stopped briefly to pose for photographs himself. Dressed in a relaxed black oversized T-shirt, comfortable trousers, shoes and a cap, Bumrah appeared in a cheerful mood. Before heading inside, he shared a light-hearted interaction with the photographers. “Subeh subeh aaram karo, naashta karo,” Bumrah joked, asking them to relax and enjoy their breakfast rather than wait around for celebrity sightings.

While Bumrah’s airport appearance generated plenty of buzz among fans, his focus is likely to be on preparing for India’s upcoming tour of England, where the team will play a multi-format white-ball series next month. The selectors decided to rest the premier fast bowler against Afghanistan following a demanding schedule and a challenging IPL 2026 campaign.

For the Mumbai Indians, Bumrah endured one of the toughest seasons of his IPL career. Despite his reputation as one of the world’s best fast bowlers, wickets proved hard to come by throughout the tournament. He finished the season with just four wickets from 13 matches, averaging 102.50 with an economy rate of 8.36.
Mumbai Indians also struggled collectively, ending the campaign in ninth place after managing only four wins from 14 matches. The disappointing results marked a rare off-season for both the franchise and their pace spearhead.

Although the numbers were below his usual standards, Bumrah’s track record speaks for itself. Over the years, he has consistently delivered match-winning performances for both India and the Mumbai Indians. With an important England tour approaching, the break could provide the ideal opportunity for the experienced pacer to recharge and return to his best.
