Former India wicketkeeper-batter Saba Karim believes teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has everything it takes to become an all-format cricketer for India. Impressed by the youngster’s outstanding IPL 2026 campaign, Karim said Sooryavanshi has already shown the temperament and skill required to succeed at the highest level.

The 15-year-old emerged as one of the biggest stars of IPL 2026, taking on world-class bowlers with fearless stroke play and remarkable consistency. His breathtaking performances not only earned widespread praise from cricket experts but also strengthened his reputation as one of India’s brightest young talents.

Speaking on JioStar, Karim said Sooryavanshi’s IPL season deserves to be remembered among the greatest individual campaigns in the tournament’s history.

“In my opinion, in the history of the IPL, perhaps after that season of Virat Kohli when he scored so many runs, if one season has to be defined, it is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s IPL 2026. The kind of performances he has put in against top-quality bowlers, even though in Indian conditions, have been top-notch,” Saba Karim said.

The former India selector also expressed complete confidence that Sooryavanshi can replicate his IPL success in international cricket. Saba Karim believes the excitement surrounding the youngster is no longer limited to Indian fans, with cricket followers across the world eager to see how he performs in national colours.

“I have full faith in his ability to score big runs. Not only Indian fans but the entire world is waiting to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi play as he did in the IPL. I have high hopes for this young lad. Very soon, we will see him in all three formats. I am dead sure about it,” he added.

Following his sensational season with the Rajasthan Royals, Sooryavanshi earned his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Ireland and England. However, despite growing calls for his inclusion, the teenager is yet to make his international debut.
