Anvay Dravid, the younger son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, delivered an important contribution for India U19 in the unofficial ODI series against Sri Lanka U19, helping the visitors post a competitive 285 after batting first. India U19 got off to a shaky start, slipping to 11/2 inside the opening four overs.

VK Vineeth and Kushagra Ojha then steadied the innings with a crucial 67-run stand for the third wicket, giving India some much-needed control after the early damage. However, the momentum dipped again as India lost quick wickets to reach 81/4 in the 19th over. That is when wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid and Arjun Rajput took charge.
The duo built a commanding 145-run partnership for the fifth wicket, pushing India well past the 200-mark and putting the innings back on track. Rajput made 76, while Anvay played a mature and fluent knock, striking nine boundaries and one six during his stay.

Anvay showed positive intent throughout his innings, taking on Sri Lanka U19 bowler Chamika Heenatigala with a six and a four in consecutive deliveries before reaching his maiden Youth ODI half-century in just 47 balls. He eventually fell for 87 in the 44th over, dismissed by Gimhan Mendis, who emerged as Sri Lanka’s most successful bowler.

Mendis finished with five wickets after also removing Sagar Virk, Yashveer Goud, Anmoljeet Singh and Ishan Sood, but India U19 still managed to close their innings at 285, a total that reflected the depth and fight in their batting lineup.
India U19 are already leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the opening game by four wickets while chasing a massive target of 321 with four balls to spare. Anvay had scored 14 in that match, but this time he made a much stronger impact with the bat.
