A passionate Virat Kohli fan has captured the attention of cricket lovers after cycling nearly 4,000 kilometres from Siliguri to Gurugram in the hope of meeting the former India captain. The fan, identified as Abhishek Roy, documented his remarkable journey on Instagram, where his videos have quickly gained traction among cricket enthusiasts.

One of the clips shows Roy standing outside Kohli’s Gurugram residence with a specially designed bicycle featuring a large poster of the batting icon. He revealed that he did not have permission to remain outside the bungalow for long and therefore decided to continue his journey while expressing his wish to meet his cricketing idol.
Roy’s extraordinary effort is another example of the unwavering admiration Kohli enjoys across the country. Similar stories have emerged in recent months, including a fan who cycled from Odisha to Bengaluru to meet Hardik Pandya. After a 12-day journey, the supporter successfully met the India all-rounder and presented him with a Lord Jagannath idol.

Meanwhile, Kohli was last seen in action during India’s 3-match ODI series against England. The batting great endured a disappointing outing in the opening match but responded in trademark fashion with back-to-back half-centuries, scoring 65 and 75 in the final two ODIs. His return to form provided a major boost after missing India’s home ODI series against Afghanistan earlier this year because of a hamstring injury.

Dasgupta insisted that both veterans have earned the trust of the team management through years of consistent performances and should continue to be judged by the same standards as every other player.
