Former India player Wasim Jaffer applauded Team India pace bowler Prasidh Krishna following the team’s 1-0 Test series win over Sri Lanka. The speedster was India’s most successful pacer on the tour, finishing with seven wickets as well. He also said that Krishna has emerged as captain Shubman Gill’s go-to seamer when he is in need of a breakthrough. He
also stated that the 30-year-old seemed high in confidence during the series.

Wasim Jaffer said in his latest YouTube video: “Prasidh Krishna has raised his level with how he bowled in this series. It looks like his confidence has grown. Shubman Gill seems to trust him. When he needs a wicket, he goes to Prasidh Krishna. Not winning this Test match will be a setback for us. Six wickets had fallen when the day started, and we needed to take four wickets, but we could not do it. That is a disappointing story. We tried; there is no doubt about it, but Sonal Dinusha was a class apart.”

He also lauded Sonal Dinusha’s stunning batting in the recently concluded Colombo Test. The batter smashed twin centuries in the contest, registering scores of 103 and 133* as well.

“The youngster batted brilliantly. He scored three hundreds in four innings against India. He was the difference between us not winning 2-0. Scoring hundreds in both innings against India’s bowling attack, he single-handedly stopped India. Another left-hander who has been a thorn in India’s flesh. Earlier, we used to talk about Chanderpaul, Saeed Anwar, and Jayasuriya,” he added.
“He has got a great start to his international career. He has looked very promising, which is a good thing because Sri Lanka needs that. Mahela, Sangakkara, and Angelo Mathews have left, and they want somebody to inspire the next generation, and I hope this Sonal guy is the answer for that,” Wasim Jaffer concluded.
