Suryakumar Yadav has seemingly put an end to speculation surrounding his Mumbai Indians future ahead of IPL 2027. The India batter has revealed that the upcoming season will mark his 10th year with the five-time champions, while also expressing his excitement about continuing his journey with the franchise. Suryakumar’s comments come amid reports that he could be parting ways with RISE Worldwide, the sports management agency that has represented him since 2021.
The company has links with Reliance, which owns Mumbai Indians, and reports of a potential split had sparked fresh questions over Suryakumar’s long-term association with the IPL franchise. Reports on September 19 claimed that Suryakumar was set to leave RISE Worldwide. The development quickly attracted attention because the agency is backed by Reliance and represents several prominent Indian cricketers. However, there has been no official confirmation from either Suryakumar or RISE regarding the reported development.
In fact, RISE Worldwide’s official website continues to list Suryakumar Yadav among its managed athletes. As a result, speculation over the batter’s Mumbai Indians future remains unconfirmed despite the recent reports.

Suryakumar has been an integral part of Mumbai Indians since joining the franchise in IPL 2018. Over the years, he has established himself as one of the team’s most important batters and played a key role in their campaign across multiple seasons.
Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Suryakumar Kumar made his feelings towards Mumbai Indians clear while discussing his upcoming season with the franchise. “When I put my step in Wankhede again, it will be my 10th year in Mumbai Indians, it’s a beautiful journey, I am always excited, it’s a festival, I double excited to play for the franchise and if you check my blood, it might be blue,” Suryakumar Yadav said.

The batter also explained how Mumbai Indians have contributed to his development, describing the franchise as an institution that focuses on discipline, facilities and long-term player development.
“Mumbai Indians is like an institution, you get disciplined – they work on your development all over the year – they have a good facility in Bombay for cricketers all around the year,” he added.
Suryakumar’s numbers underline his importance to the franchise. In 127 T20 matches for Mumbai Indians, he has scored 4,020 runs at an average of 36.54 and a strike rate of 151.24. His tally includes two centuries, 30 fifties, 433 fours and 158 sixes.
