Delhi cricketer Vansh Bedi has strongly denied any involvement in match-fixing after a sting operation alleged that a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player shared the team’s playing XIs with bookmakers during IPL 2025. According to a Tehelka report, former Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia allegedly told an undercover reporter that he had fixed five IPL 2025 matches by providing CSK’s playing XI to London-based bookmakers through Snapchat before the toss.
Bhatia reportedly claimed that the information was obtained from an insider within the franchise. The report also alleged that Bhatia had been involved in similar activities during the Delhi Premier League (DPL). One of his claims regarding a DPL playing XI was reportedly verified independently and matched the team’s officially announced lineup.
While the report described the CSK player without naming him, Vansh Bedi’s name subsequently began circulating on social media. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) later said Bedi had informed the association about a ‘fixing approach’ allegedly made by a cricketer from a neighbouring state. The matter was subsequently reported to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Vansh Bedi took to social media to reject any connection with the allegations and said legal action was being pursued against those spreading what he described as defamatory claims.

“I would like to clarify certain false and defamatory content circulating on social media and websites concerning me,” Vansh Bedi wrote. “I categorically state that I am not the individual referred to by Ex-Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting operation concerning alleged match-fixing involving a CSK player, nor do I have any involvement whatsoever in any such activity.”

Bedi was born in Almora, Uttarakhand, and moved to Delhi during his childhood to access better cricket facilities. He made an impression in the 2024 Delhi Premier League, scoring 96 off 41 balls against East Delhi Riders.
CSK signed Bedi for ₹55 lakh at the 2025 IPL auction, although he did not make his debut. An ankle injury ruled him out midway through the season, and the franchise released him ahead of IPL 2026.
