Uttarakhand batter Lakshya Raichandani will lead the Indian team, while Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan has been appointed vice-captain. Anvay is one of the two wicketkeeping options, alongside Rajat Baghel. Thirteen players from the squad featured in India’s recent home white-ball series against Australia Under-19, with Aryan Savsani and Ishan Sood being the two fresh additions.

India have been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Nepal and the UAE. They will begin their campaign against Nepal on November 6 before facing arch-rivals Pakistan on November 8. Both matches will be played at Oman Cricket Academy Ground 1. India will then take on the UAE on November 10 at Ground 2. All group-stage matches involving India are scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM IST. The semifinals will take place on November 12, followed by the final on November 14.

Aaryavir impressed during India’s 3-0 Youth ODI series victory over Australia in Rajkot in September. Opening the batting in all three matches, he scored 28, 47 and 34. His best performance came in the second ODI, where he struck 47 off 48 balls, including nine boundaries. He also has a memorable 297-run knock for Delhi Under-19 against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy.

Anvay has also shown promise with both bat and gloves. He scored 38 off just 18 deliveries in the first Australia ODI and earlier smashed 87 off 67 balls against Sri Lanka in July.

With the 2028 Under-19 World Cup on the horizon, the Asia Cup offers both youngsters an important opportunity to establish themselves.
