Team India received a grand welcome at the hotel

After outplaying the Windies in the series finale, the men in blue were greeted at the team hotel with flowers, applauds followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. While Rohit Sharma cut the cake, Kedar Jadhav was the recipient of cake smash. Before that, the witty side MS Dhoni was on display as he joined forces with man-of-the-match Ravindra Jadeja to play a prank on Rohit.

Dhoni was holding a few balloons of tri-color in his hands even as Sharma was cutting the cake. As soon as Rohit finished cutting the cake, Dhoni and Jadeja burst one of the balloons to scare the hitman. BCCI posted a video of the same on social media with the caption, “Back at the team hotel after an early wrap and it is time to celebrate.”

Jadeja finished the game with the figures of 4/34 as the West Indies batting line-up was bundled out for a diminishing total of 104 inside 32 overs after captain Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bat at the Greenfield International Stadium.

Rohit Sharma made 63 not out while captain Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 33 as the hosts chased down the total with more than 35 overs to spare, having lost Shikhar Dhawan early. India opener Dhawan’s run of poor scores continued as he chopped on a delivery from Thomas to be out for four, going through the five-match series without a half-century.

West Indies’ batting again suffered a meltdown after their below-par performance in Mumbai, when they were bundled out for 153. India’s fast bowlers struck early, sending back Kieran Powell and Shai Hope without scoring inside the first two overs.

The visitors never recovered from the early blows with only three batsmen managing to make double figures against a relentless Indian attack. India and West Indies will now play a three-match Twenty20 International series, with the first match taking place in Kolkata on November 4.
