The young Indian batting protégé, Prithvi Shaw got injured during India’s recent Australia series. The batsman was all set for his maiden series Down Under but he got injured his ankle while fielding in a practice game in Sydney saw him getting ruled out of the entire four-match series. India made it a historic occasion by winning the series 2-1  (their first-ever on the Australian soil) but 19-year-old Shaw couldn’t be a part of the proud moment.

Shaw made a terrific debut in Test cricket scoring 134 against the Windies in Rajkot last October and his batting average was 118 in the longer format at the moment. His unfortunate return from Australia gave an opportunity for talented Mayank Agarwal to make an impressive debut and with KL Rahul and Murali Vijay being out of form, Shaw and Agarwal will certainly be India’s new opening pair in the longer format in the series to come.
