During the first ODI of the ongoing India Women’s tour of New Zealand at Napier, India registered a 9-wicket win in a comprehensive manner to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. After the Indian skipper, Mithali Raj decided to chase after winning the toss, India dismissed the opposition on 192 in 48.4 overs.
New Zealand opening batswoman Suzie Bates remained their top-scorer scoring 36 (54) with the help of two fours. With bowling figures of 9-0-32-3, left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was the pick of the bowlers for India.

Indian openers in Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana stitched the 193-run target look extremely easy as they put together a 190-run stand for the first wicket. Their heroics aided India to chase the target in 33 overs.

Mandhana, who scored her fourth ODI ton, once again proved as to why she is one of the most reliable openers across the globe. Her teenage opening partner scored her maiden ODI half-century, 81* (94), with the help of nine fours.
Much like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, the women cricketers were also seen as riding the segway (a two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter) in a celebratory effort after the match got over.

While Dhoni was his usual self during his ride, Kohli had tried a few funny dance moves during his turn. In a video which has gone viral, while one of the Indian players is riding the segway, Mandhana is heard from behind saying, “Easy hai yaar. Dhoni ko dekh kar lagaa tha bahut tough hai (It is easy. After watching Dhoni [riding the segway], it looked very tough).”
