Every passing day brings another record for India’s talismanic batsman Virat Kohli, who is enjoying an extended purple patch while on field. He is only 10 years down in his international career and is already being labeled as one of the modern day great. His numbers suggest the same as he has notched up 64 international centuries and is only behind Sachin Tendulkar (100) and Ricky Ponting (71) in this elusive list.

Recently, former Australian skipper Michael Clarke stated that Virat is already the greatest batsman ever played the One-Day International format, irrespective of on which point his career will finish. And Kohli’s insane numbers in ODI cricket proves Clarke rights too. The Indian skipper reached ten thousand run landmark in just his 204th innings, where his average rounds up around 60.

Recently, Kohli achieved yet another feat with the bat during recently concluded third ODI game between New Zealand and India. His 60-run innings helped him to raise his 100th List-A half-century. An elite list which comprises legends like Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni.

The 30-year-old is in sublime form since the start of 2016 and his hunger for runs doesn’t seem to be fading away at any moment. He became the first batsman in the history to score 2,500 or more international runs in three successive calendar years.

Going by these insane numbers, India is termed red-hot favorite to win the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, to be held in England. The team is in the right balance and so far every spot has been solidified except number four, which is still India’s musical chair. Though, Ambati Rayudu is sitting there comfortably at the moment. Also, Mohammad Shami’s heroics during the New Zealand series has booked him a ticket to England this summer.

Recently, Kohli unearths a new ground by claiming all the big three ICC trophies in the same year. International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the annual awards, where he bagged ICC Cricketer of the year as well as ICC Test Cricketer of the year and ICC ODI Cricketer of the year. No one has ever won all these awards in a single year.
