India’s premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara will soon be seen playing against each other in English county cricket. Both the Indian Test stalwarts will clash in County Championship on September 5.
Ashwin is playing for Worcestershire and Pujara was signed by Nottinghamshire. The match is on Tuesday and just like their fans, both the players are looking forward to facing each other. Both were seen in a healthy conversation on Twitter.
Ashwin tweeted, “The ride to Trent bridge begins, @cheteshwar1 look forward to catching up my friend. Big game against the Notts tom.” On which, Pujara replied, “Looking forward to seeing you @ashwinravi99 it’s been long since I faced you ?.”
It would be fun to watch India’s two best Test players playing against each other. Ashwin and Pujara would both look at as their preparation for England’s tour next year.
