Jasprit Bumrah has become a vital part of the Indian bowling line-up. He has pace, he has a slingy action, he can both with the new ball, and most importantly, he can bowl during the death overs. He has the elements to be a successful bowler at the death for India. Something we had been searching for a year now.
Bumrah made his ODI debut vs Australia at Sydney last year. Since then, he is a regular in the Indian team. In 21 matches, he has picked up 41 wickets at an average of 20.87, an economy rate of 4.68 and a strike rate of 26.7.
He made his T20I debut on the same tour during the first T20I between Australia and India at Adelaide. In 25 T20Is, Bumrah has picked up 34 wickets at an average of 18.38, an economy rate of 6.70 and a strike rate of 16.4.
For a young fast bowler to have shown such control for over one and a half years isn’t easy. Having learnt the tricks of fast bowling successfully, Bumrah would also be keeping an eye on his fitness. Watch the full video of Bumrah’s brilliance:
