During the third ODI played between India and Australia at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, India won the toss and elected to field first, the Indian players before taking the position for field were gathered in a circle and sported the Camouflage Caps which was presented by the wicket-keeper MS Dhoni who collected his cap from the skipper Virat Kohli.

The intention to wear the Camouflage Caps was to pay a tribute to the Indian Army and for the 44 soldiers who died in the Pulwama terrorist attacks and Kohli also mentioned that all the Indian players have decided to donate their match fees of the Ranchi ODI to the families of the martyrs died in the terror attack.
After seeing this charity work, Fawad Chaudhary a Pakistan Politician demanded the International Cricket Council to take action against Indian cricketers for wearing military caps and politicizing the game of cricket.
He also requested the Pakistan Cricket Board to lodge a protest against this act and added that “if Indian Cricket team ll not be stopped, Pak Cricket team should wear black bands to remind The World about Indian atrocities in Kashmir.” The Federal Minister of Information and Technology took the issue to Twitter.

According to the reports from the Times of India publication, the BCCI had requested permission from ICC CEO David Richardson on Thursday to let the players participate in a charity fund-raising effort and wear army caps with the BCCI crest in memory of the fallen soldiers.
Many teams like Australia do such events like every year the first test played at Sydney is played for the cause of donating Cancer Patients. Also, South Africa wear’s Pink Jersey and that ODI is called as Pink ODI to create awareness for the patients of breast cancer.
This initiative will become an annual affair whenever an ODI is played on Indian soil.
