Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been going through a rough patch in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise has lost seven out of their eight matches in the T20 tournament and is at the bottom of the points table. The team under the leadership of Virat Kohli started the tournament with six consecutive losses which led to some serious criticism from every nook and corner.

They won against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by eight wickets at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. It came as a sigh of relief for them, however, the game didn’t go down well with their skipper in Kohli, who had a decent match with the bat in hand. Kohli has amassed 67 runs from 53 balls with eight boundaries but received a hefty fine of ₹12 lakhs as his team failed to complete the quota of overs in time.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that the RCB skipper may miss out on the rest of the matches as well if the Bangalore based franchise is found guilty of slow over-rate two more times as per reports in the IPL’s official website. A second offense over-rate would result in a fine of ₹24 lakhs for the skipper.

Moreover, the other players in the team would be receiving the fines of either ₹6 lakhs or 25 percent of the match fees. A third offense will cost the skipper ₹30 lakhs and a suspension from the next contest. The other players would be getting a fine of 50 percent of the match fees or ₹12 lakh, whichever is lesser.
