BCCI’s Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer D.K Jain served notices to former India players Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman for their conflict of interest as they are currently working as mentors for the two different franchises in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Sachin Tendulkar is Mumbai Indians’ mentor while VVS Laxman is Sunrisers Hyderabad’s.

Earlier, retired Justice Jain sent the notice to former India captain Sourav Ganguly for his roles as he is the president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), He is the member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) and the advisor of Delhi Capitals in this year. However, according to the news, all three members are doing their respective roles s voluntary service with their respective franchises.

“Since Ganguly was issued notice, the Ombudsman probably issued the notices to both Tendulkar and Laxman also. But I can confirm that Tendulkar doesn’t take a single penny from Mumbai Indians. He is just doing voluntary service. Also in BCCI, he never got paid for his services as CAC,” a senior BCCI official said.

However, both Tendulkar and Laxman were asked to file their written responses of the allegations within April 28 and they have also asked to send their response to BCCI simultaneously. The complaint, however, was filed by a member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Sanjeev Gupta.
