The 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is yet to enter it’s a playoff stage. However, the ICC World Cup is not too far from now. It’s around the corner and overseas players who were featured in the IPL for various franchises, have already left the country to join their respective teams for the preparation of the upcoming mega event. However, India players are playing in the tournament and continue to play till May 12, the final of IPL. Meanwhile, India will start their World Cup campaign on June 5.
India has included four pacers who will bowl them in nets during their World Cup campaign, all of them will travel to England with the full team. The four pacers are Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. Among them, Navdeep Saini is one of the standbys alongside Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu. While Khaleel Ahmed has already made his International debut, Deepak Chahar has been bowling pretty good for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing IPL. “I have been given a big responsibility of a net bowler in the World Cup. My aim will be to bowl as fast as possible to Indian players and help them prepare for the World Cup,” Saini was quoted as saying, who can bowl nearly 150kmph.
On the other hand, Deepak Chahar thinks swing in his bowling helped him to do well with the ball. He also thinks his swing will help India in their preparations.
“Indian selectors have given me a big duty. I think they have considered me because of the swing. I am ready to bowl my swingers to the Indian batsmen and get them ready for the World Cup,” he was quoted as saying.
