South Africa bowler Kagiso Rabada has been in a good form in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been playing for Delhi Capitals in the tournament. However, he didn’t feature in their last game against Mumbai Indians and they certainly missed his presence in the team. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada’s rest left Cricket South Africa (CSA) more concerned than others as the ICC World Cup is around the corner.
Delhi captain Shreyas Iyer said after the match that Rabada has a stiff back and that was the reason he didn’t play in the game.
“Yes we know what abilities he has. He’s an amazing bowler especially in the slog overs. For sure we missed him but he had a stiff back, it’s good he got to take rest,” Iyer said.

The other pace spearhead of South Africa, Dale Steyn is already injured who came to play in place of the injured Nathan Coulter-Nile and managed to play just two matches for the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore due to a further shoulder injury. His injury left South Africa in tension and they are hoping that Rabada gets fit enough for the upcoming mega event which is scheduled to start from May 30.
Moreover, Cricket South Africa has also asked for the scan reports of his back and after taking a look, they will decide whether he could take further participation in the tournament or not. In case, Rabada doesn’t play further, Delhi will be in trouble prior to the playoffs.
“He just complained of discomfort and we got all the tests done because we don’t wish to take a chance with any of our players. With the World Cup round the corner, even CSA got in touch with us and we spoke to them and have now sent them the reports. They will check the reports and get back to us on how to go about Rabada’s participation in the IPL,” the senior official of Delhi said to Sportstar.
