On the last weekend of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will be hosting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday for the last time in the 55th game of the league stage in IPL 2019. Both the teams have witnessed contrasting fortunes in this season so far, as CSK has already qualified for the playoffs race with 18 points, but KXIP has hardly a narrow chance to qualify for the playoffs with just 10 points under their belt. 

In their respective last games, CSK registered a dominating win over Delhi Capitals (DC), but KXIP suffered a loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the game in which Shubman Gill scored a fifty. On Sunday, CSK will be looking forward to registering a win to finish the league stage on a winning note, but KXIP has to win the game in order to keep their hopes alive to qualify for the playoffs.
