Indian cricket team has taken an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the 5-match ODI series against Australia after outplaying the visitors by 5 wickets in the 3rd ODI at Holkar Stadium, Indore.
Australia batting first managed only to score 293 in the first inning despite the fact that they were looking to score more than 330 when opener Aaron Finch was at the crease. India’s bowlers brought the game back in India’s favor by conceding only 69 runs in the last 12 overs.
The chase for India started on a great note as Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma built a partnership of more than 100 runs, but both fell after scoring half-centuries. However, Hardik Pandya was then promoted to number 4 position and he disappointed his captain and almost finished the game for India even after falling of chase master Virat Kohli.
Now, the men in blue have won 9 ODIs on the trot, equalling their best ever winning streak which came under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Going by their red-hot form, series whitewash is surely on the cards.
After the match, skipper Kohli recorded a short video with Pandya where he asked him few questions about his innings. Clearly, Pandya has won the faith of his captain by performing for the team in crunch situations with his contributions with both bat and ball in this series and so far has lived up to the expectations.
