Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke reckons that the current Indian team is pretty similar to the Australian team of the last decade. The attitude that the Indian cricketers have been showing is great to watch.
Trailing 0-3 down, they will take on the hosts in Bengaluru today in the 4th ODI. As per the quotes in India Today, Clarke said, “Australia will have to play a lot better than they have so far in the series to avoid a 5-0 whitewash. If they continue to do the same things, they’ll continue to get the same result. If Australia wants to avoid that, they’ll have to make some change. I think with their team and also with their attitude.”
Talking about India’s attitude, Michael said, “India’s attitude has been spot on. The way they have played and attacked Australia and looked to dominate has been spot on. Australia has been tentative, Australia has been on the backfoot and I think Australia been scared to lose while India hasn’t.”
The former Australian skipper does not wish to compare this team with any other team since it would be disrespecting either of the teams in some of the other ways. He said, “The current India team has the attitude of the old Australian team. They are not scared of failing. I don’t think it will be fair to compare this Indian team with the great Australian team because I don’t want to disrespect either team. I think India’s intent is what Australia used to have. They put that fear in other team’s minds. If anyone is on the backfoot, it’s Australia.”
