WATCH – Rabada Gets Angry On De Kock, Du Plessis Intervenes

The fierce South African fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada and wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock were seen getting engaged in a heated exchange during the second day of the second Test against India at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Friday. India posted a mammoth 601/5 in the first essay and the visitors were left rattled by the prowess of Indian batters.

There came a moment during the day when two South African cricketers managed to control their temper as things weren’t going their way. In the 123rd over of the Indian innings, Rabada threw the ball towards De Kock, who was losing his concentration from the wicket-keeper gifted Indian an extra run. After Ravindra Jadeja defended a Rabada delivery, the fast bowler threw the ball in the wicketkeeper’s direction.

Apparently, De Kock wasn’t paying attention to the throw and he fumbled. In the meantime, Jadeja and Kohli sneaked a quick single. Rabada wasn’t happy with de Kock and he let out his frustration to the wicket-keeper batsman, who also send down some verbal volleys towards the pacer, who asked the stumper to be smarter. The duo exchanged few words before normalcy was restored. Here is the video of the same:

As India piled on a plethora of runs and misery on South Africa, Rabada and De Kock engaged in a heated on-field banter after the over got finished and skipper Faf du Plessis had to intervene.

As far as the match is concerned, India declared the first innings on a mammoth total of 601/5. In the process, Kohli notched up his highest Test score of 254*. He recorded his seventh double hundred soon after tea, put on 225 runs with  Jadeja to demotivate the South African bowling in Pune.

Jadeja was out attempting a big heave off-spinner Senuran Muthusamy and was caught at long-off for 91 as Viratwalked off with his partner to have a go at the opposition batting in the final session.

Playing his 50th Test as skipper, Kohli surpassed batting great Don Bradman’s tally of 6,996 runs and then swept Muthusamy for two runs to reach 200 in his 81st match amid a standing ovation. The benchmark puts him in the top 50 run-scorers in Test cricket, a field led by Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar with 15,921 runs in 200 matches.
