There is no denying the fact that the most anticipated sports movie in recent times is ’83’, which is expected to hit the theatres in April next year. And, there are a plethora of reasons to feel genuinely excited about it. First of all, it will be celebrating India’s triumph in the 1983 World Cup,  which was not only a pivotal moment in Indian cricket but also for the country as a whole.

India had got independence just 36 years ago by then, still wasn’t got over with everything that the country had suffered during the British Raj and the subsequent partition. The sight of the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev lifting the World Cup at the Mecca of Cricket gave a sense of pride and a bloated self-confidence among the Indians.

And, secondly, the actor who will be playing the role of Kapil Dev is the ever-energetic, Ranveer Singh. It is fair to say that Ranveer is one of the most hardworking and versatile actors of Bollywood’s modern generation. The actor works extremely hard to match his physical appearance according to the demand of the character. From bulking up for his role of Khilji in Padmavat to transforming into all thin and lanky in Gully Boy, he describes himself with an example of how one should take their work with utmost sincerity.

And, now if the reports are to be believed, Ranveer has lost another 15 kilograms to fit into Kapil Dev’s character. Earlier in July, Ranveer shared a shirtless picture of himself on Twitter which he captioned it as, “me looking at you eating carbs like.”, clearly indicating that the actor had undergone some intense training sessions and strict diets.

During an interaction with the media, Ranveer stated that Kapil Dev’s body mechanics aren’t similar to a normal human being and only the legendary cricketer could execute that action. Ranveer further acknowledged that he had to change his body mechanisms which were extremely tough to portray. In the same interview, Ranveer also revealed how he spent 10 days with Kapil Dev, learning his food batters, batting, and bowling skills plus his work ethics, practicing cricket for three hours daily.
