India is celebrating the 88th birth anniversary of India’s 11th President, Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. His contribution to science and space research is way more than any material recognition presented upon by society. Kalam’s significant achievement in the field of science as well as in aerospace is well known all over the world.
Named as the ‘Missile Man’ for his contributions towards the developments of India’s missile projects, APJ Abdul Kalam had always been loved kids. He often spoke to children and the country’s youth — inspiring them to think big in life; he also an author of numerous books.

The cricket fraternity on Tuesday paid tributes to former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his 88th birth anniversary. Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir shared a picture of the ‘missile man’ along with a quote in Hindi on his Twitter handle.

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, better known as the ‘Missile Man of India’ for his contributions towards the development of the country’s missile projects was born on October 15, 1931, at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. In 2002, Dr. Kalam became the 11th President of India and famously became the ‘People’s President’ for his friendly nature to one and all.

The former President suffered a cardiac arrest on July 27, 2015, and passed away while giving a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong.
