Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked from captaincy on Friday by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). After their 0-3 loss to Sri Lanka at home in the T20I series, the board took these steps. Sarfaraz has also failed to keep his place intact in the squad as the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani said that he won’t be included in the Test and T20I team for the upcoming Australia tour. However, with this, there have been speculations of his retirement as well.

However, his wife Khushbaht has dismissed all the speculations saying that Sarfaraz will return soon with a bang. Interestingly, she also talked about MS Dhoni’s retirement issue asking if he could play at 38 then why not Sarfaraz. However, Dhoni has made himself unavailable for selection since the ICC World Cup semi-final loss earlier this year.

As far as Sarfaraz is concerned, his wife said they knew of his sacking news three days before itself and Sarfaraz himself informed the news to his wife.

“We knew this (sacking) three days ago. It is not the end of the road for him. He will be able to play burden-free now. Why should he retire now? He is only 32. How old is Dhoni? Has he retired at his current age?” Khushbaht said while speaking to Deccan Chronicle.

As far as MS Dhoni is concerned, there were speculations about his international future. Recently, the newly elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly shared that he will speak to the selectors as well as Indian captain Virat Kohli to talk further on MS Dhoni’s future.
