The cash-rich league went through lots of obstacles in the last 12 editions, but, there came no point when it got canceled or postponed due to any reason whatsoever. However, this time the probability of the 13th season being canceled seems quite likely to the increasing threat of Covid-19. And, the transmission of the deadly virus is going to be the foremost reason behind it.

However, most of the players know that it will get postponed and there is no possibility of shifting it to the future. In a conversation with Sky Sports, Jos said, “No news at the moment. We saw, initially, that it was going to be postponed. It’s very hard to see this changing in the immediate future, so I don’t see that as a possibility at the moment. Obviously, it’s such a massive tournament for world cricket, so hopefully, some of it can go ahead — perhaps a shortened tournament.”
