CCI Pledges TO Donate A Hefty Amount To CM Relief Fund

The Cricket Club of India (CCI) has pledged to donate as much as ₹51 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the State in its fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic. Besides this, the CCI will also donate ₹51 lakh for within the community to help the staff during the COVID-19 crisis.

Talking about the same to ANI, CCI president, Premani Udani said,  “We have decided to donate ₹51 lakh to the Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund. As the whole nation is trying to fight this virus, we are also in the same team. We have also donated ₹51 lakh for the community of our staff, their families and some ex-staff,” CCI president Premal Udani told ANI.

He further added, “We are praying and our government is also making full efforts to beat this virus. I hope with the combined hard work, we will overcome this situation.”

Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states in the country. With 34 new coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, the State’s count rose to 3,203 on Friday, informed the state Health Department. Out of which 2003 cases are in Mumbai itself.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 13700 with almost 460 people losing their lives on Friday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The entire world is slowly moving towards a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
