Former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra who has now become a renowned commentator tested positive for covid-19 and took to social media to announce the same. The veteran Indian batter is often seen talking about cricket and analyses the matches that take place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also India matches.

Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. The veteran India batter took to social media to share the news. The 44-year-old former cricketer will not be seen taking part in broadcasting for the ongoing IPL 2022 for Star Sports till he recovers from the disease. The fans will be eagerly waiting for him to make a comeback to the commentary panel.

Aakash Chopra took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, “After dodging the bullet for nearly two years…I have also succumbed to the C Virus. Yups. Symptoms are mild thus far… should be back on the saddle soon”.

In his playing career, Aakash Chopra only managed to play 10 Test matches for India, in which he had amassed 437 runs at an average of 23 with his highest score being 60. He had made his Test debut in 2003 against New Zealand in Ahmedabad and he had played his last Test one year later against Australia in Nagpur.

The former right-handed batter has also played for the IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and he was also a part of the franchise in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Chopra is a now a pundit of the game and he regularly gives his take on the ongoing cricket matters and he has created a reputation for not mincing his words.
