Former Pakistan all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq reckons that the consistency of the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is impeccable, but he is still not impressed with the India skipper. This is the second time in recent times that the ex-cricketer has undermined Kohli’s batting abilities.

The India batting mainstay is currently the no.1 ODI and Test batsman in the world. The likes of Sourav Ganguly, Michael Vaughan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag have called Virat the best batsman of this generation. When it comes to batting records, the Indian skipper is well ahead of his contemporaries.

While he is already regarded as an all-time great in ODIs, Kohli will definitely be ending his career as an all-time great in Tests and T20Is as well. He is currently the leading run-scorer in T20Is. But despite all these achievements, Razzaq believes that while Kohli is lucky because of the support he gets from the BCCI. Well, only Razzaq can say what sort of luck is he talking about. Not only that, but the former allrounder also said that Pakistan has players who can do better than Kohli.

As per the quotes in PakPassion.net, Razaaq said, “He is a fantastic player and there is no doubt about it. However, he is lucky as the BCCI supports him well and instills the confidence in him that any player needs to succeed. The respect he gets from his board is what probably inspires him to do well all the time and the results are there for all to see.”

He further added, “I do believe that even in Pakistan we have players who could become better than Virat Kohli, but they are neglected by our system which is a tragedy. In Kohli’s case, he has taken that confidence shown in him by the board and using his talent, repaid them with his performances.”

Last year, Razzaq had said Virat is a consistent batsman but cannot be put in the same category as Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He backed his claim by saying that there is a dearth of world-class players in modern-day cricket and there is no strength in depth for teams across the world.
